Summer Course in Film Appreciation, Pune, May 17 to June 12, 2004

A four week full-time course in Film Appreciation will be held at Pune from May 17 to June 12, 2004 under the joint auspices of the National Film Archive of India and Film & Television Institute of India. The course is primarily designed to meet the needs of teachers interested in introducing film study activities in educational institutions but would also be useful for film society organisers, film critics, journalists, film researchers, government officials handling films and others interested in film studies.

The curriculum includes theoretical and practical study of the art and history of film and the development of cinema as a medium of art and communication. Film classics, both Indian and international, will be used for critical analysis and study.

1. The medium of instruction would be English.

2. The applicant should have completed 18 years of age as on July 1, 2003

3. The course fee of Rs 5,000 should be remitted by demand draft in favour of Administrative Officer, NFAI, Pune, only after the confirmation of selection. Fees once paid will not be refunded.

4. Hostel accommodation (optional) will be provided by FTII to those who desire to avail of the facility.

Hostel fees to be paid by two separate demand drafts -- Rs 2,500 + Rs 500 towards hostel.

Fees and service charges respectively in favour of Accounts Officer, Film & Television Institute of India, Pune 410004.

Hostel deposit of Rs 500 to be paid by demand draft only in favour of Accounts Officer, Film & Television Institute of India, Pune 411004.

Application duly filled in the prescribed format along with fee of Rs 200 to be remitted by crossed demand draft payable to Administrative Officer, NFAI, Pune and one self-addressed Rs 5 stamped envelope should reach the following address on or before March 26, 2004

Applications received after the last date and not in the prescribed format are liable to be rejected. Applicants are advised to send the forms by Speed Post or by courier service in their own interest.
