Iqbal Mirchi detained in US: Mumbai police

The Mumbai police on Tuesday said notorious gangster Iqbal Mirchi, a trusted aide of underworld don Dawood Ibrahim, has been detained by enforcement agencies in the United States and is likely to be deported soon.

Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Satya Pal Singh said that another gangster Ejaz Lakdawala has also been detained 'somewhere abroad'.

He revealed that intimation about their detention was received a month ago and that Crime Branch teams may be sent to the two places to seek their custody.

On Monday night, Dawood aide Tariq Parveen was deported to Mumbai from Dubai, UAE.
