India trying to portray Kashmir struggle as terrorism: Jamali

Pakistan Prime Minister Mir Zafarullah Khan Jamali on Monday accused India of making 'cynical' attempts to portray Kashmiri's 'struggle for self-determination' as terrorism.

He has demanded the implementation of the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir, which New Delhi maintains is outdated, official APP news agency, quoting Jamali, said.

The Pakistan prime minister made the remarks at a banquet hosted in honour of visiting Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdagon in Islamabad on Sunday.

"The people of Jammu and Kashmir have been struggling for their right to self-determination pledged to them by the UN Security Council more than half a century back," Jamali said.

Jamali said Pakistan condemned terrorism in all its forms and manifestations and has been the first country to join the international coalition in the war against terror.

"The world community must also address, simultaneously, the root causes of terrorism, particularly economic deprivation, inequality, injustice, foreign occupation, denial of fundamental rights and oppression," he said.
