Antim Totla undergoes polygraph test

Multimillionaire Antim Totla and his brother-in-law Prakash Jakhete on Monday underwent polygraph test at the forensic science laboratory in Ahmedabad in connection with the multicrore stamp paper scam, SIT sources said.

Totla and Jakhete were allegedly close to Maharashtra politicians and prime accused Abdul Karim Telgi. Both, however, dispute the charge. The tests were performed in Ahmedabad in the presence of SIT officials.

The two are likely to undergo P-300 brain fingerprinting and narcoanalysis tests in the next two days, SIT sources told PTI.

Jalgaon-based businessman Totla and his nephew are facing the allegation of using Telgi's money to finance the Bangalore trip of Democratic Front legislators when the Vilas Rao Deshmukh-led government was facing a crisis in 2001. Both have denied the charge.

The SIT had carried out raids on Totla's premises in suburban Santacruz and Khar on December 11 and seized certain documents. Subsequently Totla and his nephew were summoned for interrogation.

Totla had clarified in a section of the press that he was close to several politicians but does not know Telgi.
